Crete Island

Olive oil production

Crete is the most prominent island for olive oil. The vastness of the island groves, led naturally to the immediate registration of 9 PDO regions for the island of Crete. Again Koroneiki variety dominates here, but some local varieties are found, such as Tsounati, Throumbalia and Hondrolia, which account for the distinct flavor of each individual region.

Nature has given its best gifts to the Cretan landscape. Natural monuments are standing here, chiselled by the passage of time, narrating centuries-old stories.

Thousands kilometers of coasts, chiselled by the sea water and the wind, form the borders of its magnitude.

The Cretan diet is not just a variety of dishes laid on the table. It comprises a whole philosophy of life and represents the lifestyle of the Cretan people.
