In 1954, Giorgos Tsinavos, founder of the company, opened a small patisserie in Serres, which produced and distributed ice cream and confectionery in the town. Ice cream was first sold by hawkers with handcarts which used ice and salt for cooling.
Today, Kri Kri has extended its network to more than 40 prefectures in Greece and aims to strengthen even further its development prospects, both in Greece as well as overseas.
Alongside its development course, Kri Kri remains faithful to the philosophy that enterprises constitute an integral part of society and the environment in general. Over the years it has developed a wide range of social contribution programmes (CSR programmes) and remains loyal to its commitments concerning environmental protection (programmes on the prevention of pollution and reducing the environmental impact of its actions).
